This light upon my shudders
Reflects
And blinds my eyes
As I wake.
Not unlike you,
Don’t you agree?
You appeared suddenly,
And all else seemed
To emulate the light you shined
My eyes were blinded by the light-
And fluttered open in surprise.
To follow in such a lights bright wake
Would truly lead to my demise.
My heart did flutter
As I followed
But what I didn’t know-
Was that I had opened your eyes as well
But you were subtle in your love
I didn’t realize until later
Just how much we adored each other.
But for now I admire at a distance
And even not so far as such
And as I warm my heart in your light-
As I open the shutters wider.
The sun does shine ever brighter
But I defy the sun’s own light-
Because compared, it does ours no right.
